about me
a few things,
slightly out of place.
the things i notice
i have a soft spot for things that are slightly off. an odd number. something that refuses to line up. clothes hanging outside somebody’s house, arranged with absolutely no concern for whoever might be looking. me. i’m looking.
i design websites. i also spend a lot of time walking around and noticing things that have very little to do with where i was supposed to be going. vegetable markets and flower markets are especially good for this. i’ll see someone carrying a bag and start wondering about the entire life attached to it. where are they going? what are they thinking? what’s for lunch?

my mother calls me a cow because i eat everything. i’m vegetarian, so the comparison has some structural integrity.

a little off-centre
i like imbalance enough to make it happen on purpose. even numbers are available; i generally decline. i like moving something a little outside where it’s expected to be, then seeing what that does to everything around it. this applies to layouts and, occasionally, life decisions.
awkwardness interests me too. especially that moment in a conversation when nobody quite knows what to say next. i want to know what comes after the rehearsed part.
i’m also trying to negotiate my mouse out of a job. if something can be done with a keyboard, i want to know how. if it can’t, i’m not entirely ready to accept that answer.
sometimes i imagine a universe where people eat CDs to absorb memories and everything comes in odd numbers. i have questions about how they buy shoes. i would still like to visit.
some of these thoughts find their way onto Substack. a place for things i notice and questions i’m still sitting with.
one more thing
one more thing: i’m a self-appointed goddess. the position comes with no powers i can put on a résumé, but i have arranged for a bell. you can ring it in my honour. finally, a reasonable use of the internet.
the things
i stop for.
